INTRODUCTION
A new definition of freestyle bridging into wave sailing. The younger generations have grown up and claimed the show and now there’s a whole new set of rules to go by. The new school of windsurfing is without limits; back wind, switch stands, inverted, off the top- you name it! Its all possible and now they have taken it to the waves. So with this brief in hand we set out to design a sail to cover these needs. Taking the successful concept of XD and re-working it into an explosive X-Over sail with a lightweight construction that allows you to do anything, anywhere.
PRODUCT IDEOLOGY
- A versatile X-Over sail which generates the speed and maneuverability to get it on in the waves while still having the featherlight feel you need in sliding maneuverer.
- Low end power for early planing, high cut foot combined with relatively short boom for maneuverability.
- Superb ability to de-power in the critical moment of a maneuver and very forgiving handling characteristic.
- Large X-Ply body, foot and perimeter paneling, make the BLACKTIP a sail built to last through the heavy demands of new school sailing.
- Absolute highest technology in materials, manufacture and construction.
- Versatile rigging settings; more outhaul for a gruntier power delivery and slightly less outhaul for smoother performance and a lighter feel in the hands.

CONSTRUCTION
CONSTRUCTION
- High Aspect Ratio, longer mast shorter boom. Gives fingertip handling with more front-end power, located higher in the sail body.
- Horizontal and vertical shape combined for optimal sail profile.
- Light weight monofilm construction, which gives a crisp and direct feel. - Dacron luff panel for smooth power delivery.
- Kevlar perimeter, low stretch, long life material for the main panels.
- Puts strength where you need it.
- Symmetric batten pockets. A major technical advancement in sail design. Creating a perfect aerodynamic symmetry on both tacks of the sails.
- Kevlar stretch control tendons, increase the sails wind range, durability and allow for more controlled power. |

CREATIVE DIRECTOR COMMENTS
“ We drew inspiration from the Blacktip shark, a completely harmless creature... unless provoked. This explosive shark is mostly known for its ability to launch out of the water, performing aerial maneuvers, spinning three to four times around its axis before landing. To capture this explosivity, we chose to camouflage the sail body with large dark sections which contrast with relatively small distinct elements, ultimately defining its appearance on the water. Visually, the BLACKTIP separates itself from it´s peer group, as this sail aims to appeal to a younger audience. Regardless of the riders ability the BLACKTIP epitomises the attitude, dynamics and versatility of new school sailing. ” –Peter Anjou
